On the shelf.

In the Twin Fin studio there are 3 books I always keep around for inspiration when working on pretty much any project.

Why?

Because for me these are my idea journals, my creative block unblockers and all round good guys for when I need to get started on a project, when tweaking ideas or when turning a sketch into something I feel my clients will love.

Here we go:

  1. Drawing Attention by Viction:ary - this book is a beauty for modern branding and illustration. It displays brilliant using of modern illustration as a vehicle for driving a brand’s identity.

  2. Pretty Much Everything by Aaron James Draplin - this book is all about the man himself, Aaron James Draplin of Draplin Design Co. He himself is an inspiration enough, but his book packs a punch, with hundreds of logos built for businesses large and small. This is an absolute delight for the eyes.

  3. Maritime Logos & Architectural Logos by Counter-Print - this is essentially 2 books in a collection. 2 small pocket sized books that showcase bold logos and type to get you in the right frame of mind to pick up that pencil and begin sketching.
